Any Hindi speaker who practises for two weeks should hear the difference.
That's the idea Fluent14 is built around — and the standard we hold it to.
Why we're building it
Millions know English. Far fewer get to practise speaking it.
Across India, people who studied English for years still freeze in interviews, avoid speaking up in meetings, or translate every sentence from Hindi in their heads. The problem usually isn't knowledge — it's practice and feedback.
Most English apps teach vocabulary with taps and matching games. Few make you speak, and fewer understand the specific mistakes Hindi speakers make: missing articles, mixed-up tenses, “discuss about”, “where you live?”, v and w sounds.
Fluent14 is designed to fix exactly that. You speak, you get corrected right away, and each mistake keeps coming back until it's gone — in a short, structured program you can finish in 14 days.
The learning science
Every feature traces back to how people actually learn.
- Retrieval practice with spacing — you recall answers yourself, and mistakes return after growing gaps (1, 3, 7 days).
- Chunks, not lone words — vocabulary as useful phrases like “make a decision” and “in charge of”.
- Explicit grammar + practice — a short, clear rule followed immediately by drills.
- Corrective feedback — every answer shows the correct version, the mistake type and the rule.
- Fluency under gentle time pressure — a speaking timer, with response time tracked.
- Task-based practice — interview and meeting scenarios, not just isolated sentences.
- Support that fades — Hindi hints shrink as your level rises.
Our principles
What we won't compromise on.
- Mistakes are safe. Feedback is calm and helpful, never harsh.
- Honest progress. We show real before-and-after recordings, not inflated badges.
- Not built to keep you scrolling. Practise, improve, and get on with your day.
- Private by design. Speech is processed on your phone where possible, and your data is never sold.
- Works for India. Budget Android phones, mobile data and Hindi-first learners come first.
- Free to start. Fluent14 will be free at launch.
